Some farms seem to be producing suspiciously large amounts of milk and ghee with a shockingly low number of cows.
It's hard not to wonder if there might be something unconventional going on there.
Informally,
it was around 1847. Back then, the Desigo name wasn't there, but our spirit, vibe, and feel were already present. It was a historical time for us, having 2 farms in rural Rajasthan Near jaiselmer.
May 14, 2018:
Desigo was blessed with its first two farms, one raising 49 Kankrej cows and the other raising 62 Red Sindhi cows, both desi breeds.
February 12, 2019:
We welcomed a third farm with 56 Rathi cows, another desi breed.
September 20, 2020:
By God's grace, we adopted a farm in Jaisalmer raising Tharparker cows, another desi breed.
April 22, 2021:
With our existing herd thriving, we didn't need to expand further at that time.
January 16, 2022:
We onboarded three additional farms, raising Gir, Kankrej, and Sahiwal cows, all desi breeds.

Ancestral farming families often possess generations of knowledge about cow behavior, needs, and natural remedies. This knowledge can be valuable in ensuring cow well-being.
Normally, when cows are well cared for according to traditional methods, such as having a stress-free environment, being allowed to graze freely, being pampered by farmers, and having their calves fed first, their lactation cycle can naturally extend to around 7-8 months.

The above datas are the total capacity / limits of the milk production accros desigo farms and in total. Out of the total capacity how much did we produced and sold per year, we’ve mentioned it below.
Also, we do organic because we don’t know anything about processing or chemicals or cruelty. All we know is nature, health and cows.

Sustainability report 2023-24
We've observed that most new milk companies spend a lot on unnecessary things, like beautiful, fancy farms resembling castles, fancy transportation, and elaborate packaging. These elements only add to the cost of the actual product (milk).
Then they claim to be sustainable. However, what's the point of being sustainable if it comes at a high cost, hindering affordability for society?
We think it's a good way to make some new friends if we are sustainable, affordable, hygienic, and true to our bold, fearless, and being what we truly are.
You wont find any fancy constructions at Desigo farms.
Modern farms often resemble factories, with enclosed cows, fancy structures, and claims of superior hygiene. We disagree. These methods seem designed to impress, not benefit the cows. Traditional methods, with open lands and natural elements, prioritize cow well-being, a history Desigo cows appreciate!
Unlike these "show farms," Desigo focuses on real farms with natural practices, producing high-quality, affordable milk. We prioritize healthy cows and healthy milk, without unnecessary expenses.we do oats because we don’t know anything about almonds or soy or cows.
Milk chillers by
The main strength of these chiller in making milk affordable is its low power consumption. A successful project by RTCOM, it was designed to ensure hygiene and prevent bad bacterial growth for Desigo milk. RTCOM chillers were specifically made keeping rural areas in mind, where frequent power cuts are a daily challenge.
Even without electricity, RTCOM chillers can last for up to 12-24 hours, retaining and maintaining the ideal chilled temperature for the milk. Therefore, due to its efficiency in low power consumption, the electricity cost per unit of milk is very low, ultimately making Desigo milk more affordable.
Desigo utilises Public transportation system.
Since almost all Desigo farms are geographically located deep in rural areas, far from urban centers, this necessitates transporting milk to the urban Desigo plant. Making milk affordable for society has always been a priority for us.
If we had used our own vehicles for milk transportation, the initial purchase cost & ongoing fuel expenses would have significantly increased the final price of milk. Therefore, by utilizing public transportation, we were able to cut unnecessary costs, ultimately keeping Desigo milk affordable.
Manure management.
Also, we do oats because we don’t know anything about almonds or soy or cows. All we know is oats: how to grow them, harvest them, and turn them into refreshing products that you can take home and treat your body to.Also, we do oats because we don’t know anything about almonds or soy or cows. The 2% label concept.
As the name suggests, the 2% label was an innovation introduced by our research team for Desigo milk labeling. The name comes from the size of the label, which is only 2% of the entire glass milk bottle. Weighing just 0.2 grams, it's small in size and perfect for communication.
Because of its small size, the cost is almost negligible in terms of packaging costs for the milk, thus helping to keep Desigo milk affordable.
Reusability,
( Glass bottles, glass jars )
From day one, we have bottled our milk in reusable glass. Desigo members return and reuse more than 2.75 million bottles annually, contributing to 20 tons less carbon emissions yearly. This helps us contribute to a circular economy and a zero-waste future.
RTCOM RT 1 chips are attached to the glass bottles for traceability and transparency for registered members. Glass bottles are a kind of one-time investment for us. The operating cost is their cleaning, which ultimately helps the company overcome the high costs involved per unit of milk sold, leading to very little cost added to the final commodity (Desigo milk and ghee ).
